Write for us

Honest Racing Journal welcomes pitches that reveal an interesting part of racing culture and make it legible to fellow enthusiasts. We value a clear idea, a distinct angle and writing that welcomes readers who are still learning the ropes.

Ideas we welcome

Pitch an explanation of a racing expression, a comparison of race-day experiences, a piece of cultural history, a thoughtful look at a common misconception or a guide to noticing something particular at a racing occasion. We are interested in enduring subjects, not betting recommendations, predictions or claims that require private access.

What makes a strong pitch

Send a concise summary of the proposed piece, its central point, the category it would suit and why readers might care. Explain how it differs from familiar coverage and what information or sources the piece would draw on. A focused proposal is more useful than a broad subject with no clear angle.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Please include a short introduction to your idea in the message. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication; agree on scope and terms before beginning commissioned work.
